A Partner and Head of Construction at Langleys Solictors, Phil is accredited as a construction
specialist by the Law Society of Scotland and holds a Masters in Construction Law. He has
over 14 years experience acting for various clients in all aspects of the construction process.
Phil is dual qualified as an English and Scottish lawyer, acting for developers, banks,
contractors , sub-contractors and consultants. Phil is able to provide institutionally acceptable
construction documentation, namely professional team appointments, amendments to the main standard
form contracts and collateral warranties. He also negotiates these documets on behalf of the relevant
partoes so that the necessary risk is allocated appropriately. Phil has extensive contentious experience
in dealing with and advising in all aspects of dispute resolution procedures including adjudication,
arbitration and the court process.
In addition, Phil also has experience of advising clients on health and safety legislation including
the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1994, the CDM Regulations 2007 and the Corporate Manslaughter
and Corporate Homicide Act 2008. Phil has represented clients in health and safety prosecutions
and at Coroner's Inquests.
